Wyndgrove house is conveniently situated almost equal distance (under 6 miles) from all the fabulous local Wedding Venues such as Newton Hall, Doxford Hall, Ellingham Hall. For the convenience of our guests we can offer an early check in service for these guests attending weddings upon request. Local taxi services do cater for those wedding venues, but we strongly recommend you book them in advance, please contact us for details.

Bird Watching

The North Northumberland Coast is a haven for Birdwatchers. There are interesting species all year round and we count ourselves very lucky to be so near to such rich and varied habitats.

Of course in the Spring the main attractions are the major nesting sites on the Farne Islands an experience never to be forgotten, but the North Northumberland coast has something to offer all year round!

Previous sightings in this area, have included: Coal Tit, Chaffinch, Great tit, Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Velvet Shoveler, Goosander, Red-throated diver, Black throated diver, Goldcrest, Brent goose, Pintail, Shoveler, Sooty Shearwater, Marsh Harrier, Merlin, Peregrine, Water Rail, Little Stint, Curlew, Sandpiper, Ruff, Black tailed Godwit, Spotted Redshank, Green shank, Common sandpiper, Great Skua, Artic Skua, Long tailed Skua, Mediterranean Gull, Roseate Tern, Black Tern, Barn Owl, Long eared Owl, Swift, King Fisher, Wryneck, Yellow Wagtail, Robin, Redstart, Black Redstart, Wheatear, Song Thrush, Redwing, Feildfare, Ring Ouzel, White's Thrush, Garden Warbler, Black Cap,Lesser Whitethoat, Whitethroat, Sedge Warbler, Reed Warbler, Chiffchaff, Artic Warbler, Yellow browed Warbler, Firecrest, Red-breasted Flycatcher, Pied Flycatcher, Brambling.

Local Area

The North Northumberland Coast is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Wyndgrove house makes the perfect base from which to explore this fascinating area. The castles of Alnwick, Bamburgh,Dunstanburgh, Holy Island and Warkworth are all within a short drive. Fabulous walks and wildlife abound along the sandy beaches. Take a trip to the Farne islands to see the seabirds and seals or venture inland to the Cheviot Hills for some more challenging hill walks No wonder visitors return year after year to this unique area. Kate and Wilf will be happy to help you plan your visit to get the most out of your stay.

Groups and exclusive use

Wyndgrove House is the ideal base for many groups activities. Divers, bird watchers, walkers or to celebrate a special occasion or to simply have a get together in this beautiful part of the country. We have up to 6 en-suite bedrooms which all sleep at least 2 people in a mixture of doubles, twins and a family room. The maximum capacity for the house is 15 people. We have a lovely spacious dining room which is perfect for large dinner parties, with a wood burnings stove to relax and enjoy.

Weekends for exclusive use are more likely to be available in low season unless you book a considerable time in advance.
